The ACM/ICPC for the first time was hosted and organized by Kateb University in Kabul Afghanistan in 2017. Kateb University hosted the three rounds of ACM/ICPC contests, the first round was ACM/ICPC Kabul national programming contest, the second round was 2017 Asia Kabul First Round Online Programming Contest and the third round was ACM/ICPC Kabul regional programming contest in Afghanistan.
The first contest held on 4 Aug 2017 in Kateb University in which seven national universities of Kabul participated in first round contest. In the national programming contest, 14 teams participated from different universities of Kabul including American University of Afghanistan, Gharjistan University, Kateb University, Kabul University, Khatam-al-Nabien University, Kabul Education University of Rabbani, and Poly Technical University of Kabul. The first round winner of contest was “KPU-CE” from Poly Technical University of Kabul: second winner of contest gotten by “Ants army” from Gharjistan, The third winner of contest was “Hunters” of Kateb University, fourth and fifth position also reserved by Kateb University.
The Second round of the ACM/ICPC contest was “The 2017 Asia Kabul First Round Online Programming Contest” at Kateb University on 20, Oct 2017. In online programming contest, 12 teams of different universities of Afghanistan and Iran participated. The Afghanistan universities teams were from Ibn-e-Sina University, Gharjistan University, Kabul Polytechnic University, Kardan University, Kateb University, Rabia Balkhi University. Furthermore, Shahid Beheshti University and University of Sistan and Baluchestan participated from Iran. The winner of the contest was “You Know Izad?” from Shahid Beheshti University, second position “KPU-CE” from Polytechnical University of Kabul and third winners of the contest was “Hunters” from Kateb University, Fourth and Fifth positions got by University of Sistan and Baluchestan and Gharjistan University respectively.
The third round of ACM/ICPC of 2017 was “ACM-ICPC Asia Kabul Regional Programming Contest” held at Kateb University on 10, Nov 2017. In third round, 10 teams of national and international universities participated in the contest from Afghanistan and one team of Iran Shahid Beheshty University. The Afghanistan teams were from Avicenna University, Gharjistan University, Kabul Polytechnic University, Kardan University, Kateb University and Shahid Beheshti University from Iran. The winner of the third round contest was “You Know Izad?” from Shahid Beheshti University (Iran). Second position taken by “KPU-CE” from Polytechnical University of Kabul and third position reserved by “Hunters” of Kateb University.
